Cuando gentilmente dejaron frente a mi casa un imponente 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave, retiraron el Subaru Solterra el\u00e9ctrico que hab\u00eda conducido por una semana, pero al parecer, cuando comenc\u00e9 a aprobar el nuevo Gladiator mi cerebro a\u00fan no hab\u00eda dejado partir al Subaru,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La transici\u00f3n desde la silenciosa marcha y la r\u00e1pida aceleraci\u00f3n de un el\u00e9ctrico, a la severidad, rudeza y brincoteo del Gladiator, me hicieron cuestionarme por unos instantes: \u00bfy como domo yo a este potro salvaje?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La respuesta la encontr\u00e9 un par de d\u00edas despu\u00e9s, cuando me aventur\u00e9 a llevar el Jeep al parque forestal de Tillamook, una hora de camino al oeste de Portland, Oreg\u00f3n, donde abundan los trayectos dif\u00edciles con pendientes, declives y pe\u00f1ascos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fue all\u00ed donde el Gladiator Mojave y yo hicimos amistad. Me demostr\u00f3 de lo que es capaz cuando lo lleve a los extremos, y pronto olvid\u00e9 al Subaru el\u00e9ctrico, consciente de que para alcanzar lugares que solo un pu\u00f1ado de autos podr\u00edan acceder, el 2024 Jeep Gladiator debe de estar entre los primeros de la lista.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 hay de nuevo?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Jeep Gladiator es una camioneta relativamente nueva. La conocimos como modelo 2020, y este a\u00f1o recibe algunos cambios de apariencia, tecnolog\u00eda y acabados. La pantalla del infoentretenimiento es de mayor tama\u00f1o, agregan dos nuevos acabados, el Mojave X y Rubicon, y discontin\u00faan el motor turbodi\u00e9sel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo se ve desde afuera?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El cambio m\u00e1s grande de estilo del Gladiator 2024 es la parrilla de siete ranuras, ahora m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as y con \u00e9nfasis en el color negro, lo que las hace lucir m\u00e1s contempor\u00e1neas. Los faros tienen un aspecto un poco m\u00e1s limpio y Jeep elimin\u00f3 la antena de la vieja escuela, para colocar una unidad integrada en el parabrisas&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Siete nuevos dise\u00f1os de llantas tambi\u00e9n se suman a la mezcla, para ofrecer m\u00e1s oportunidades de personalizar la camioneta, que tiene mejor aspecto en general, pero pr\u00e1cticamente es igual al modelo anterior.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfY por dentro?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La cabina tiene buen espacio en un interior que sin ser atractivo, si es muy funcional. Jeep prev\u00e9 que este interior va a ser \u201cmaltratado\u201d con buenas dosis de polvo, fango o nieve, por lo&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>que la tapicer\u00eda de tela y muchos pl\u00e1sticos duros har\u00e1n m\u00e1s f\u00e1ciles las labores de limpieza luego de una escapada off-road.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notamos la falta de compartimentos de almacenamiento para objetos personales, empeorada por una consola central y guantera muy peque\u00f1as. Por suerte, el asiento posterior puede plegarse y all\u00ed debajo hay espacio par esconder objetos grandes como mochilas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La raz\u00f3n principal para elegir un Gladiator sobre un Wrangler es su cama de 5 pies, pero donde esta camioneta reina, es por su habilidad de desmontar el techo y las puertas para poder disfrutar la experiencia \u00fanica de un paseo al descubierto. \u00a1Imita esto Subaru Solterra!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tecnolog\u00eda y seguridad\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En la actualidad la mayor\u00eda de los autos vienen dotados con prestaciones de seguridad y asistencia que ayudan a prevenir accidentes. La versi\u00f3n base del Gladiator Sport no trae muchas, y agregan de serie alerta de colisi\u00f3n frontal y control de crucero adaptativo, a partir del acabado Sport S. Los modelos Mojave X y Rubicon X incorporan de serie sensores de aparcamiento traseros, alerta de \u00e1ngulo muerto y alerta de tr\u00e1fico cruzado trasero.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El sistema de infoentretenimiento Uconnect creado por Chrysler es utilizado en los modelos de Stellantis como los Jeep, y desde el principio, a sido uno de nuestros preferidos en la industria, por su excelente dise\u00f1o, y eficientes respuestas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Una nueva pantalla t\u00e1ctil de 12.3 pulgadas adorna el centro del tablero y se ve n\u00edtida con el \u00faltimo software Uconnect 5. El sistema de infoentretenimiento es limpio y f\u00e1cil de usar, y ahora cuenta con conectividad inal\u00e1mbrica para Apple CarPlay y Android Auto.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo se conduce?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El motor en V6 EcoDiesel turboalimentado de 3.0 litros ha sido descontinuado, dejando al Gladiator 2024 con una sola opci\u00f3n, tambi\u00e9n un V6 de 3.6 litros y 280 caballos, pero alimentado solo con gasolina. Donde s\u00ed encontramos diferencias entre modelos es en los componentes de tracci\u00f3n. Por ejemplo, los Willys obtienen un diferencial trasero con bloqueo Tru-Lok y un modo de conducci\u00f3n Off-Road+, mientras que los modelos X cuentan con una caja de transferencia y 4WD permanente.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La versi\u00f3n Mojave de esta camioneta est\u00e1 fuertemente equipada para serias aventuras todoterreno, con una suspensi\u00f3n m\u00e1s alta, amortiguadores FOX de 2,5 pulgadas con bypass y dep\u00f3sitos de aceite internos, diferencial de bloqueo trasero que se puede seleccionar a alta velocidad, rieles de acero para evitar danos con las rocas y grandes neum\u00e1ticos todoterreno.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nosotros probamos un Mojave X, que destaca entre sus compatriotas por las tomas de aire y calcoman\u00edas en el capo, pero agrega a\u00fan m\u00e1s provisiones para las aventuras en terrenos dif\u00edciles o des\u00e9rticos, entre ellas la opci\u00f3n Off-Road+, que al activarse, acelera la respuesta del acelerador, ajustando los puntos de cambio de la transmisi\u00f3n y desactivando casi por completo el control de tracci\u00f3n y estabilidad, para permitir el m\u00e1ximo deslizamiento de las ruedas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con todo este aprovisionamiento no es dif\u00edcil imaginar que llevar al 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave a una aventura todoterreno es una experiencia sorprendente, sobre todo, si se tiene la oportunidad de remover las puertas y el techo. Sin embargo, dentro de la ciudad la experiencia de conducci\u00f3n es bastante accidentada.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La misma suspensi\u00f3n que hace que sea tan formidable fuera de la carretera, provoca una pronunciada inclinaci\u00f3n del cuerpo en las esquinas, y el Gladiator parece brincar como un potro con cada bache o protuberancia en la carretera, haciendo que la conducci\u00f3n urbana sea parte de las concesiones que sus due\u00f1os tendr\u00e1n que hacer.
